Saturday the 27th
Well, other than a walk to an a/c mall, we did nothing today! But we knew that coming here….the plan was to sit by the pool and relax. That is not “nothing” as I almost typed. Relaxing is actually something….and I am working on getting better at doing it.
I feel I need to correct yesterday’s post about the food. Apparently Troy did like the fried noodle dish. We think it is called Mei Goreng. Maybe it was just the fact that we had nothing to eat it with it kind of weirded me out….BUT we were determined to go back to the market tonight and eat more things. So we did…..we had samosas, and some other deep fried pastry thing. I asked for 2 “chicken” and 2 “beef”, so as I wouldn’t get the “sardine”, but I am pretty sure all four were sweet potato. Hahahahahahahaha
We also had a chicken kebab, which is like what we would know as a donair. It was pretty good, had some tasty sauce and cabbage and the chicken.
We tried these pancake things that we had heard about from Chad. WOW!! That’s all I have to say, they cook a pancake in a little pan and then they add a tonne of stuff, nuts, corn, sugar, cocoa powder to name a few (yes, all those things in the same pancake). Then they fold it in and cut it into 6 pieces and hand it over. WOW-again-super sweet….a lot of stuff going on in this delicacy.
So after all that we were stuffed!! So felt a walk was in order. We walked down to the ocean. I almost said beach, but it wasn’t really a beach. It was by the ferry terminal actually…absolutely stunning sunset!
