Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful turkey meal at Chad and Ang’s last night. Bonnie and Terry are in town, but have to leave today, so we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner together last night. YUM! So much to give thanks for!!!

We will also cook a turkey etc here this weekend. I simply must have my own leftovers…

Jackie wants to decorate for Christmas this weekend. I am feeling kind of lazy today…but I might be convinced to go out and get the stuff unpacked. It would be nice to get that done.  Todd, Kristen and kiddos are coming for Christmas…So it will be very festive and busy here this year.

Looking forward to a nice 4 day weekend…probably going out to shop tomorrow on black Friday–wahoo!!

Rachael’s old gymnastics coach (Dan) is coming back to work with the team since the passing of Coach Jeff.  There will be a service next Tuesday—it will be one of the saddest things we have ever done I am sure. So Dan is going straight from the airport to the gym tomorrow (Friday) and having a special workout for the girls. We will be happy to see him!!

Finally!!!

Hi–well, I finally went out and got the new table for the kitchen. I know–2 1/2 years late. But I have commitment issues (to say the least). So we have the 122″ table I picked out a long time ago and 2 chairs…we have to wait for the remaining 12 chairs until first week of Dec. So right now we have the ghetto chairs still there–but not for long  ; )

Ba Bye Shaniqua

Not sure how to spell the car’s name Brooklyn! Did I get close?

We sold the Jetta last night…a couple fellas came and bought it for parts. Pretty much exactly all it was good for now. They already had a jetta with a bad motor–so voila!

So now the search can really get under way for a new addition to the family (now that we have room on the driveway again-haha)

Rememberance Day

Thank-you to all our brave veterans who fought for us (and still do!). Thank-you Grandpa!!

Quiet day at the Roberts…Jackie has soccer later this afternoon (indoor–WAHOOO!). Rachael is at her friend’s house and will go straight from there to gym. BK is enjoying her work and school free day  : ) ‘cuz that just does not happen often….

I may go out and check on the mushroom crop in the yard–sigh–but other than that, I still have to do the work I was meant to do yesterday and we still have to get that pool cover done–ACKK

’till tomorrow…

Tuesday–day off

What a great way to start a Tuesday…sleeping in!

No school today, but Jackie is going to work at the food bank this afternoon as part of a service project with her girl scout troop. No soccer practice tonight as practice has been changed to ONE indoor practice on Wednesday at 3pm–so WAHOO! for that…

Rachael has gym tonight at 4pm and will be going home with a friend after…

Brooklyn does not work today–so I am sure she will do some homework and finish up the “APP” (as we are affectionately calling it these days).

We need to close the pool cover today–no exceptions. It took us many hours to clean all the leaves out on Sunday and I was a might cranky by the end of it. Not to mention sore on Monday.

That is it really—got to do a bit of actual work today–some paperwork stuff that is hard to get done when all I really want to do it work with my ELL kids…

Rachael did knit a slipper after she went to slipper knitting school with my Aunt Joan when she was here a couple weeks ago…She got it sewed up the other day and it is like a “mini slipper”. It might fit Jackie…but it WAS good practice and she will make the next one bigger i am thinking. The girls have taken up earring making also…I will try to remember how to put pictures on my blog and then you can see…

well it has finally caught on!

So glad to see the Roberts family is embracing the “blog”. Two of my nephews are now blogging and my sister in law. This makes me think I should step it up…

Maybe people are interested in reading about my daily life. I will try hard to blog more regularly…

Rachael’s arm is healing well…she has returned to gymnastics although slowly…

Jackie has one more soccer game left in her season. Thank goodness it is on a turf field as the last two games have been unbearable water and mud baths!

Brooklyn has decided she wants to go to UW/Bothell campus–this is GREAT news (small campus/close to home). She is working on her application. The process is MUCH more involved than what I remember having to go through to get into University back in the dark ages when I went. We will keep y’all updated on that…but there is no reason to think she won’t get accepted.

Troy and I work work work…that is all there is to that…
