July 15th…on our way home

Hi all….well July 15th has arrived. Shocking how fast three weeks goes!! We have checked out of our hotel and are hanging around the pool for a bit. We are going to go get our very last massages soon. Then grab something to eat….and say a prayer that the taxi we hired (from our Phuket Town adventure yesterday) shows up like we agreed. I would be surprised if he does not….we have never been stood up yet. But when it involves an airport connection, I get a little more nervous…

Anyways…see you all soon! We will land in Seattle mid afternoon on Friday…

Level 7 State-March 20th, 2010

What a great day…Rachael had her state meet this morning at 8am…a little early for me! But we were up and on the road by 7am  : )

Rachael had several personal bests today–which is very exciting! She scored her highest bar score of the season (8.05), her highest beam score of the season (9.275) and her highest All Around score of the season (35.125) she placed 4th on Beam and 11th AA. (9.15 Floor, 8.65 Vault). She did a GREAT job, worked hard and best of all–had a really good time. Can’t ask for more than that eh? Troy took pictures, but i am not sure how to get them on here…I will work on that  : )

SHE’S BACK! Jan 9,2010

Saturday was the Snowball Classic down in Lakewood. The first gymnastics meet of the season!! Rachael did GREAT…

The most exciting news is that Rachael threw her back handspring for the very first time on high beam since she returned to the sport! I guess it takes a meet to get her in the right frame of mind…

She scored a 9.15 on Vault, 7.15 on Bars, 8.35 on Beam (she forgot her series so took a 7/10 deduction–OOPS!), Floor 9.05. So she placed on Beam and Floor as well as All Around. This was more than we even thought possible for her first meet in a year and post surgery.

The Topping on the Ice Cream Sundae is Rachael also was awarded the Judges Award for Artistry in the Floor Exercise. In addition to her public kudos…she was given a huge chocolate bar as her reward–so she was happy happy happy…

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful turkey meal at Chad and Ang’s last night. Bonnie and Terry are in town, but have to leave today, so we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner together last night. YUM! So much to give thanks for!!!

We will also cook a turkey etc here this weekend. I simply must have my own leftovers…

Jackie wants to decorate for Christmas this weekend. I am feeling kind of lazy today…but I might be convinced to go out and get the stuff unpacked. It would be nice to get that done.  Todd, Kristen and kiddos are coming for Christmas…So it will be very festive and busy here this year.

Looking forward to a nice 4 day weekend…probably going out to shop tomorrow on black Friday–wahoo!!

Rachael’s old gymnastics coach (Dan) is coming back to work with the team since the passing of Coach Jeff.  There will be a service next Tuesday—it will be one of the saddest things we have ever done I am sure. So Dan is going straight from the airport to the gym tomorrow (Friday) and having a special workout for the girls. We will be happy to see him!!

well it has finally caught on!

So glad to see the Roberts family is embracing the “blog”. Two of my nephews are now blogging and my sister in law. This makes me think I should step it up…

Maybe people are interested in reading about my daily life. I will try hard to blog more regularly…

Rachael’s arm is healing well…she has returned to gymnastics although slowly…

Jackie has one more soccer game left in her season. Thank goodness it is on a turf field as the last two games have been unbearable water and mud baths!

Brooklyn has decided she wants to go to UW/Bothell campus–this is GREAT news (small campus/close to home). She is working on her application. The process is MUCH more involved than what I remember having to go through to get into University back in the dark ages when I went. We will keep y’all updated on that…but there is no reason to think she won’t get accepted.

Troy and I work work work…that is all there is to that…
