I wish I could say that I did something incredibly exciting on the weekend. Here I am in Cambodia, with relatively few responsibilities other than the job and the dog, one would think that I was off gallivanting around the country side exploring things. I must confess, I did none of that, which for me, at this point, was incredibly exciting! Every single day last week I was so tired when I got home from school that I mostly didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do much in the evening, but I also didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get a chance to really lay around and just cuddle and play with Nichol. I slow rolled both Saturday and Sunday morning (after walking Nichol) with a coffee in my favourite mug on the balcony\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.<\/p>\n

I also have to say that, on Friday night, I did not bring home my computer or any schoolwork. I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t mean to be \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthat person\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 but what I have discovered is that the school day is already long enough. 7 AM to 4 PM, and for what they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re paying me, I really don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think I need to work more than that. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve decided that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m going to continue to make the best use of every minute of the school day, and then at 4 PM I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m definitely out. This is for my own sanity, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the only way that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m gonna make it through the next three months. You can tell me to check my bad attitude at the door if you like \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u2030<\/p>\n

The things that were on my to do list this weekend were to go upstairs and check out the pool and the gym, make a trip to the Makro for a couple more household things and some food, make sure that the maintenance guy came to fix the shower that has a showerhead that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not working, and to enjoy the housekeeping service that was scheduled for Saturday at 11 AM. (Oh ya, and to go to Brooklyn pizza). That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a pizza place that I went to when I was here for Landon\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcs wedding in November 2019 that has exceptionally good pizza. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s about a 14 minute walk from here. I did go there this afternoon and secured myself a delicious four cheese pizza that cost $11.99 usd and will be enough for at least three meals. So compared to how much my lunches cost, it is extravagant, but definitely worth it \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u2030\u00c2\u00a0and look at the dipping sauce they came with the pizza \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u201a\u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u201a\u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u201ayes, that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ketchup\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6..\u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u009d<\/p>\n

This apartment is called a serviced apartment, which means that they provide housekeeping (included in my rent). I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never had a housekeeper in my entire life, so even though Nichol and I aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even making a mess, I was still looking forward to having a housekeeper for my little apartment. So that really was the best part of the weekend, when at 10:59 AM there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a tiny little knock on the door and sure enough I opened up and there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s two housekeepers that come in with all their supplies. It took them exactly 39 minutes to scrub down the whole place including cleaning the windows. This is definitely an upside to my new life!<\/p>\n

The pool and the gym are amazing. The pool takes up 1\/2 of the rooftop and the gym is another floor up on the other half of the rooftop. It overlooks the pool and the whole city. So I think that it could make a very pleasant place to burn a few calories. Stay tuned on that progress\u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u2030\u00c2\u00a0It has a very large collection of equipment and weights and yoga stretching stuff. All kinds of things that I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t really know what to do with, but I suppose I will learn should I be so inclined.<\/p>\n

oh ya\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6..And after putting a LOT of stuff in my cart at the Makro, I get to the till and they tell me they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take credit cards. Good lord\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.. another place that only takes cash and\/or the ABA app. I have got to get a bank account!!\u00f0\u0178\u00a5\u00b4<\/p>\n

I was lucky though because I just happened to stick three extra 50,000 riel notes in my bag before I left. So I just had enough for my $69 worth of goodies. \u00c2\u00a0The Tuktuk ride to the Makro was 10,400 riel ($2.50 usd) and a 30 minute ride, so if I had gone all that way for nothing I would\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been very annoyed. \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u00ac<\/p>\n
