Well all good things must come to an end. My impromptu visit to Cambodia is no exception! \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u00a2<\/p>\n

I should catch you up on last night! Around 6:30pm we caught a Grab over to a rooftop bar in the East part of the city. Traffic was really quite horrendous but the tuk tuk still only cost $2. Vehaa was the name of the bar. Rooftop bars are such a THING here. Maybe I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m getting old but I just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t love going to rooftop bars. The view is always nice I suppose. I do appreciate that at sunset, but we were well past sunset by the time we arrived around 7pm. For Pete\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sake that is getting close to my bedtime. Anyway, quite lovely. I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t partake in any libations. I was waiting until the next stop \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u2030 \u00c2\u00a0We met up with Sam\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s French parents \u00c2\u00a0Marie Claude and Hubert. This is really nice because I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get a chance to properly say goodbye in the village. Such an interesting life they lead. They travel between New Caledonia, France and Cambodia. With most of their time spent working in their foundation for education here in Cambodia (thus their philanthropic connection to Sam).
\nanyways they have a house here in PP, a home in New Caledonia and just closed on a home in France this week. So they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got options!<\/p>\n

After the rooftop bar thing we set out to a pizza place just down the street. The name is inconsequential because we stopped in to say Hi to a French lady called Christine that they all know at a new bar called The Garden at Bassac. Owned by a Cambodian lady named Sophy (we are now fb friends \u00f0\u0178\u00a4\u00a3) and her American partner. They both speak French, plus with the French rolling around from Marie and Hubert and Christine and Sam…..It was very fun. I understood more than I thought and occasionally responded in French. They UNDERSTOOD me!! Woot<\/p>\n

Sophy said we could order pizza from across the street and eat it in her place where we ordered drinks. Absolutely delicious $5 margarita!! Partook in another 4 cheese pizza too! It was good, but not quite as good as the pizza from the night before at Brooklyn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. I love saying that \u00f0\u0178\u00a4\u00a3<\/p>\n

After THAT, we heard that some people from East West wanted us to join them at a different bar across the way. So we got a grab over there. We didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t stay there too long because they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been sitting there since 5 PM, and it was now 10:30 PM. So you can imagine how much fun it was for us. As entertaining as it is to sit around and chat with super smashed people. I was home and in bed by midnight. Far and away the latest night of the trip!<\/p>\n

Despite the late hour on Friday night, I was still awake at 5:30 am on Saturday. Coffee on the balcony with Landon, then we ran out of coffee so a trip to a coffee shop was in order. We had to cut through The Russian market to get there so on the way back, I decided to get myself some more cashews. The biggest most incredible cashews here for $12 a kilogram, which is unheard of pricing at home. How can I resist? I dropped the cashews off at the apartment and then decided to head out for a walk.<\/p>\n

Another beautiful sunny 95 degree day! I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m really going to miss this weather. I think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 27 degrees at home right now \u00f0\u0178\u02dc\u00ad.<\/p>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be honest I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m kind of snacking my way through Phnom Penh this afternoon. I may have found some absolutely delicious fried chicken, and an ice cream lady on the street is selling three different kinds of ice cream out of a bun, I know it sounds weird but it was really really good!<\/p>\n

I stopped in at the French bakery Tout Le Jour across the street from Landon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s apartment and of course I purchased something to use the facilities so I did end up enjoying a Boston cream doughnut.<\/p>\n

I really need to slow down because we have plans to meet Joe for supper at an all you can eat Argentinian buffet for seven dollars a person at 6 o\u00e2\u20ac\u2122clock. This is all in preparation for knowing that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not going to have anything of any quality to eat in the next 28 to 36 hours. I am on a plane home tonight at midnight. Which is nine hours from now. The bears all say goodbye as they climb back into the bag for the ride home….<\/p>\n
